On Tuesday, December 5, our Great Books group will wrestle with the many questions that arise from reading / viewing Macbeth, Shakespeare’s masterpiece of tragedy. You can’t miss this session; this is a chance to delve into the undeniable brilliance of the Bard. Where else can you find unchecked political ambition, murder, more murder, the occult — all in a single play?
On a personal note, my entrance into Great Books began with my dropping in on a discussion of Macbeth, my favorite Shakespeare play (still true today). Having recently graduated with an English degree, I was missing the company of people who enjoyed discussing plays, novels and other literature. That session began a lifelong love of reading and coming together to share ideas.
I look forward to a fresh look at the Scottish Play. Please join the session. In-person or virtually — your choice. See details for both methods on this website.
